Not at all — we ask to rotate partners during classes and also have a partner-matching program if you want a steady dance partner.
Not to mention that the Technique classes are individual!
Comfortable clothes and shoes that allow you to move easily. For shoes, smooth soles work best, but sneakers are fine for starting out.
This is also valid for the Prácticas, but not for the Milonga parties.
Yes! Come try your first class with us, no strings attached. If you enjoy it, you can sign up for one of our discounted September passes. Free classes can only be booked for Beginner Level, Individual Technique or Open Level.
You can pay at the school when you take your first class. Multiple payment methods will be available soon.
Absolutely! We organize prácticas, milongas, and special events like the September 3rd Opening Party with free lessons, live music, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Classes are mainly in English, but we can translate into French, Dutch, Spanish, or German if needed.
No problem — our team will introduce you to dancers and help you integrate into the community. Simply say Hi to any of the organizers!
Not at first! Comfortable shoes with smooth soles work fine. Once you get hooked, we’ll guide you on choosing the right shoes.
The Open Level class is structured in two parts:
1) First part → We work on a technique exercise (or a set of exercises) that applies to the couple — something everyone can benefit from.
2) Second part → We apply that technique to one specific tango movement or figure, so you can understand where and how to use it and improve your dancing with it.
Each Open Level class is adapted to the level of the students present. The exercise is designed to help everyone grow, and while the move stays the same for all, the individual corrections are tailored — so beginners, intermediate, and advanced dancers can all progress at their own pace.
The rotation pool lets dancers without a fixed partner join classes and still have someone to dance with. We try to keep leader-follower parity by asking students from other classes to help when needed, so most of the time, you’ll have a partner.
If you’re unsure whether there will be someone for you in a specific class, just drop us an email to brusselstangoschool@gmail.com and we’ll confirm — we only ask that you let us know if you can't come, since we count on your spot when organizing the class and asking other students to come.
